A Golden Glow Without the Sun — Yes, It’s Possible

It is proven: a fresh face and a golden glow lift your confidence. Good news — you can wear both without the sun. A sunlit menu, a few simple gestures and the right products are all it takes.

Juices full of vitamins and… carrots

The carrot is the glow ally to keep on your plate all year round. It tints the complexion lightly, prepares the skin for the sun and speeds up tanning. To draw on all its benefits you would have to eat 1 to 2 kilos a day: the simplest way to manage that is a vitamin juice in the morning. In the juicer, run a quarter of a pineapple, half a mango and two carrots for an exotic version. For something fresher, blend four carrots with a few mint leaves. And if you love citrus, blend two carrots with the juice of a lemon, an orange and half a grapefruit.

An organic mask to wake up the complexion

Keep the pulp from your morning carrot juices carefully, and turn it into a homemade mask that gives you a glow — a gesture that follows straight on from our ancestral beauty rituals. Mix a cup of carrot pulp, a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of flour until the mixture turns smooth, leave it on for ten minutes, then rinse. The complexion comes out radiant.

Carrot oil in your cream

To tint the skin little by little and keep a glow all year round, add a drop of carrot essential oil to your usual moisturiser, then apply it exactly as you always do. As luck would have it, carrot oil is also known to help soften wrinkles.

A menu full of beta-carotene

For a sunlit complexion without tanning, say yes to foods rich in beta-carotene, which boost your natural glow. On the plate: carrots, always, apricots, melon, and spinach, red peppers and parsley too. To eat them, get inventive with gazpachos, soups, salads or smoothies.

A tinted moisturiser

For a subtle glow, treat yourself to a lightly tinted moisturiser, a BB or CC cream. Wear it alone or as a makeup base, underlined with a little bronzing powder and highlighter to sculpt the face — the same gestures you will find in our guide to wearing makeup in summer.
