Personal Growth

Interview with Insaf Derouiche

From a degenerative autoimmune disease that threatened her with a wheelchair to a career as a personal development coach: Insaf Derouiche turned her own recovery into a method, blending neuroscience, quantum physics and spirituality. She tells La Sultane about that journey and about her vision of accompanying others.

Who is Insaf Derouiche?

She describes herself as proactive, passionate and resistant to routine, forever evolving through the challenges she sets herself. Her conviction: every human being is endowed with infinite potential, whether they are aware of it or not, and deserves to understand who they are and what their place in the universe is. Her mission is to help each person become the architect of their own life, to transcend a limiting past towards a consciously built future — drawing on modern sciences (neuroscience, quantum physics, epigenetics) which, in her view, now make it possible to explain through tangible experiments what once belonged to the mystical.

How was her career as a coach born?

The trigger came from a personal ordeal: a degenerative autoimmune disease had made her lose weight and muscular strength and subjected her to severe pain, with a heavy and uncertain course of treatment. Refusing the prospect of a wheelchair, she turned towards coaching — not to be coached herself, but to train and to live her own path of growth. She has since acquired several certifications (Neuro-Activ Coaching, NLP, hypnosis, Arc-Leader-Coaching) that allowed her to understand the interaction between the mind, the body, the environment and lived experiences. That chapter is now closed: she has her good health back, and the experience shaped the professional she has become.

What is her approach to coaching?

For Insaf Derouiche, personal development follows three stages: philosopher (theoretical knowledge), initiate (putting it into practice), then master (behaviour anchored over time). Her own practice unites knowledge drawn from training courses, research in neuroscience and quantum physics, and a creativity guided by intuition — each session, whether in person, by video or by phone, is unique. She has moreover devised an approach to personal development that unites modern sciences, spirituality and creativity. Inspired by the change that the Covid-19 pandemic was imposing on everyone in our ways of being and doing, she confided at the time of this interview that she wanted to build a curriculum of training courses and online masterclasses, as well as a book for a general readership, then in the works.

How does she react to sceptics?

She sees in it a natural attitude of self-protection in the face of the unknown, and respects that legitimate refusal without judgement. On subjects such as the law of attraction or positive thinking, she observes that many people speak about them at the philosopher stage without mastering their practice, for want of sufficient knowledge in quantum physics or neuroscience — and she passes on what she knows without attachment, leaving everyone free to remain within the known or to go further.

Which cause is close to her heart?

She gives her time voluntarily, each time she is asked, to developing leadership in the younger generations, convinced that personality is built between the ages of 6 and 35 through lived experiences and the neurological traces they leave: two neurons excited together connect, and repeated experience ends up marking out precise patterns of thought. Her final message: stay curious, enrich your brain every day with new information and your body with new experiences, to live fully rather than merely survive — a conviction that echoes the personal development books that truly transform. She recommends without hesitation Rompre avec soi-même pour se créer à nouveau by Joe Dispenza, a researcher and chiropractor who unites quantum physics, neuroscience and genetics to explain how to act lastingly on one's personality.
