Hair Masks: Our Recipes

Want a hair mask that truly meets your needs? Here is a run-through of homemade recipes, 100% natural, whether your hair is dry, parched, dull, oily or curly.

Mask for dry and/or damaged hair

Recipe 1

  • 1 tbsp shea butter
  • 1 tbsp castor oil
  • 1 egg yolk

Recipe 2

  • 1 banana
  • A third of a cup of olive oil
  1. Blend the banana and the olive oil together.
  2. Apply to slightly damp hair.
  3. Wrap your hair in a plastic bag, then in a towel.
  4. Leave on for 1 hour.
  5. Rinse, then shampoo.

Recipe 3

  • 1 tbsp jojoba oil
  • 3 drops of rosemary essential oil
  1. Mix the jojoba oil and the rosemary essential oil.
  2. Apply to wet, wrung-out hair.
  3. Wrap your hair in a cloth, leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, then shampoo.

Mask for parched hair

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp wheatgerm oil
  • 1 egg yolk
  • The juice of one lemon
  • 2 tbsp brewer's yeast

Mask to feed the hair

Recipe 1

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 glass of sweet almond oil
  • 1 tbsp ground almonds

Apply to dry hair and leave on for 20 minutes.

Recipe 2

  • Lemon juice (half a lemon)
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp honey

Recipe 3

  • Olive or argan oil
  • Honey
  • 1 egg

Mix, then work into the scalp as soon as you have finished shampooing, and rinse. For oily hair, add three drops of rosemary essential oil to the rinsing water. For the previous recipe, mix the ingredients, work them along the lengths with extra attention to the ends (keep away from the scalp), wrap your hair in a plastic bag, leave on for twenty minutes to half an hour, then rinse well.

Mask for shine like no other

Recipe 1

  • 1/2 litre of cold water
  • Lemon juice

Mix, then rinse your hair with this water.

Recipe 2

  • Warm water
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Leave on the hair for a few minutes, then rinse.

Mask for dull, limp hair

An egg yolk as a conditioner: ideal for putting some life back into the hair. On wet hair, apply 1 or 2 beaten egg yolks and massage with your fingertips.

Mask to revive curly hair

  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon almond oil
  • 1/2 cup carrot juice
  1. Blend all the ingredients together.
  2. Apply to wet, wrung-out hair.
  3. Wrap in a damp towel and leave on for half an hour.
  4. Rinse with warm water.

Mask for oily hair

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp grapeseed oil
  1. Apply the mixture to your hair.
  2. Cover with a sheet of aluminium foil, then a towel, and leave to work for 30 minutes.
  3. Wash your hair.
