Afternoon Tea at the Four Seasons Hotel Tunis, or the art of being treated like a queen over a cup of tea!

We're told that "afternoon tea at the Four Seasons Hotel Tunis is perfect for spending time with loved ones or celebrating special occasions." Throughout the month of February, the Four Seasons Hotel Tunis sees life in pink and celebrates love for 28 days. A Valentine's Day special that will no doubt do a lot of good!

From Alice in Wonderland to aristocratic tradition

I don't know about you, but I discovered the tea party ritual as a child, through a Disney animated film: Alice in Wonderland. For a long time, I saw nothing in it beyond the Mad Hatter's exuberance and a ceremony all his own.

As I grew up, I learned that it was in fact a real tradition, very common among the English aristocracy from as early as the 17th century, before spreading to the rest of the world. Started by the Duchess of Bedford and popularized by Queen Victoria, afternoon tea is a light meal enjoyed between 4pm and 6pm.

An exceptional setting at the Alyssa Lobby Lounge

At the Four Seasons Hotel Tunis in Gammarth, the experience begins at 3pm and is held at the Alyssa Lobby Lounge. The elegant setting suits outings with friends or family just as well as business meetings. The refinement of the venue and the quality of the team's service make for an unforgettable moment.

A royal service that pampers you

The perfectly orchestrated service, delivered by an extremely attentive staff, makes us believe, for a moment, that our every wish is perfectly familiar to them. You will never be treated like just another customer waiting to be served. You will be thoroughly pampered. A queen, I tell you!

A refined selection of teas and drinks

Much to our delight, a rich range of Kusmi tea, illy coffee and other drinks are served to us in fine porcelain and crystal. They are accompanied by delectable little sweets.

Exceptional culinary creations by Omar Mosquera Mallen

Delicious fresh sandwiches, prepared by executive chef Omar Mosquera Mallen, are presented in hanging half-cages specially designed and conceived for this ritual: quinoa salad, sushi, falafel, squid-ink sandwiches, tomato and cucumber sandwiches, scones and fresh cheese... We had been promised an explosion of flavors. My enthusiasm no doubt reveals that we were not disappointed.

A haven for those with a sweet tooth: all-you-can-eat pastries and macarons

It won't be said that the afternoon tea at the Four Seasons Hotel Tunis resembles anything else, anywhere. An assortment of delicious cakes and flavorful macarons make the pastry table the ultimate corner of temptation. This haven for those with a sweet tooth doesn't just look good. It also delivers on every promise. Happiness also means learning that you can help yourself as much as you like to the surprisingly light exotic fruit cheesecake and the vanilla and coconut cake coated in Valrhona chocolate. Do you know what it's like to take a bite of a cloud? Try it and you'll find out! Absolutely fabulous.

February in pink: celebrating love all month long

To confirm the uniqueness of this experience, the Four Seasons Hotel Tunis culinary team is celebrating love throughout the month of February.

"Why celebrate love on just one day, when you can declare it every day?" asks chef Omar. Starting from the first of February, the Alyssa lounge already sees life in pink and celebrates Valentine's Day.

A special menu in the colors of love

A different menu will be offered. It will wear the colors of love: pink and red. Hot and cold drinks, alcoholic or not, will be red or pink. The pastries and sandwiches will also be colorful, rosy, fruity, aphrodisiac and refined. The cakes will take the shape of roses (a mold specially designed for the occasion was brought back from Spain, the chef tells us). The principle stays the same, but the content is different...

An invitation to indulge

It's hard not to fall in love with afternoon tea. All that's left to do is give in and savor it!
